Check this guy out - little known prospect out of Adamsville, Tennessee. He was the MVP of their state all-star game. 6-1 190 SS, RB. Interesting player. Feedback is welcome

Good instincts, hits hard. Not sure he has the speed for the SEC

I know we love comparing kids to guys that have played here. But wasn't Craig Steltz a pretty good rb and hellvua db too. Hey I won't mind having him on the team.

Need to do more research on him -- I am busy at work, but had a call come in about this guy & figured I'd post. Looks impressive on first glance. I believe his current offers are from smaller D1 schools.

My cousin watched him play in 2A Title game. Said Neary is a good size kid with great instincts and hits hard. Speed is a major concern though. Will probably be a good player at a smaller place like Memphis, MTSU, or Western.

Gotta remember those highlights are against small town competition. I know there can be good talent on some of those teams (Stevan Ridley comes to mind) but it's not like playing 4A/5A ball.

You all might be right but instincts and and a want to be great is something some guys just don't have. Some guys ho off of just being athletic but he is slow for a running back but maybe he is just fast enough for a safety. IDK but hope he gets his wish a plays somewhere.

If he's slow for a RB he's definitely too slow for a safety.

Peyton Hillis has worked out with the guy personally - says Auburn will offer him preferred walk-on. Hillis to call Arkansas to get them to do the same. However, the kid wants to play for Les apparently.

Dude looks pretty good, seems like more of a pure football player than some other higher rated recruits, wouldnt be a bad addition

If his stats are accurate (6-1 195) I think he could play olb if he bulked up a little. Agree?

I was just told about this post on here about Zak and I thought I'd chime in. I'm a volquester , myself. Don't have much time for other boards. Anyway I'm am not Zaks dad. He is a good friend of mine though. He is not the type to get on here and thump his chest about his boy. So I will do it, ha. Here is what I know.

He ran a 4.53 40 at APSU
1st team all state running back
Rushed for over 4000 yards. 50 TDS. Benches 325. Runs a sub 4.2 shuttle. Squats 450. A complete field general all west tn player of the year soph and as a senior. District MVP 2 years in a row
Will play anyhere but loves safety, hitting people
2a comp. yes, but at all star game vs 1a to 6a players, MVP , called best player on the field by a few coaches.
Team first always.
Work aholic , first to practice last to leave.
Has the body type to carry more weight if needed. His dad is around 6'2" 235 or so.
He will never embarrass the university on or off the field.
Good student
He has been in contact with several schools. Some big, some small. Of coarse the small schools are very interested.
LSU loved his film. A big 10 school is very interested
Like all competitors he wants to play big time football in college
Him and his dad didn't really grow up loving a college football team. They are huge Denver bronco fans. His dad said he always worked on Saturday his whole life so they watched the NFL on Sunday.
So he didn't grow up wanting to be a vol or tiger or whatever, so he is going to go to the best place possible.

Peyton hillis thinks he is D1 all the way and if he wanted it he could find a place in the nfl. The first time Zaks dad met Peyton, Peyton said "I hope my son grows up to be just like Zak". That's a pretty strong endorsement.

That's not a bad idea if Moffitt can get 15 pounds on him without losing any speed.

Good info Orange, and welcome to the board

I agree with blkhwktiger mostly.

He is clearly a true football player. Hits hard, plays hard, and has good instincts. For a D1 caliber eval, he has decent lateral speed, good instincts and field vision, and packs a punch for his size.

I think he could be a role player for a smaller school, or a special teamer type for a larger school. If he were to go to LSU, I could definitely see him on special team coverage or the like.

From his picture, he looks to need to add about 20 lbs of good weight, while still cutting down his 40 time. It would be a challenge, but you dont know what you have till youre done trying to mold it. I would suggest he take his best offer, but immediately start bulking, and working on speed drills. Best shot other than special teams is strong safety, or even perhaps a rover linebacker in a nickle or dime set.

Just my opinion for the op

No problem. Anything I can do to help the kid. I promise u this. If he is given a shot he will never disappoint. Patrick Willis played 1a ball in rural west tn too. He turned out ok lol.
