Jimmy Smith is about the only so called recruiting expert out there that is usually correct. He does a good job. However, why would he say that "it's been Breeland Speaks' dream to play for LSU his entire life"but says if he had to pick right now Jimmy sees Speaks picking OM? I don't get this comment.

Ole Miss did a better job recruiting him

He's still mad for LSU backburning him until after the UAAG.

He will make LSU sweat and then flip to LSU on NSD.

Jimmy said what Jimmy does, throws various vague situations out there that straddle the fence. No matter the outcome he will be right one way or another.

That's what Jimmy Smith does. He hedges and therefore is never wrong. Remember, he was the same dude who perpetuated the "Saban and LF to Saban" rumors during the UA game, then said "don't kill the messenger".

LSU didn't have Speaks as a priority commit early in the recruiting cycle; but Ole Miss did. It is true that Speaks has stated several months ago that LSU was his "dream school", but Ole Miss recruited him earlier and harder and now he feels a sense of loyalty towards them. It's actually a good character trait to have.

Agreed on the character part...however if you have a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream one should follow it.

I mean, that's easy to say if we are the on the "dream" side. If he committed to us early, then got a heavy push from ole miss late (who in this situation, we assume was his dream school), would you advocate for him to turn his back on his commitment for "greener pastures". I'm sure you'll say yes, but you'll privately know this to be non-true.

You want other people's thoughts to agree with your best interest. Don't get me wrong, it's great when they do. But you can't act surprised when things don't play out that way.

Because that's what Speakes' family told him when they contacted him to ask that he let LSU know that he was interested.

IMO, part of the problem of "holding" so many spots for top targets until AA games. Personally I would have pushed harder for the more shaky recruits commitments early and expanded the offer base at those positions if I couldn't get them.

Since we're handing out orders, why don't you gain some tolerance and a sense of humor.

Les Miles has lost control of Ole Miss commits and grumpy RB poster "GetmorewithLes."

Yes, the "fire javi" crap and posts like it were stupid to begin with and now it is just tiresome and annoying as hell.

If OM recruited him harder and he was a second or third option for LSU, I'm sure that means OM has a higher need for his services - thus a better chance at playing time. Just because a player dreams his whole life about playing for LSU doesn't mean he dreams about riding the bench at LSU.

Speaks is a very good DT, he will play at OM or LSU.
