She's never been, I like to hit the slopes hard. I passed on the guys trip this year cause she was begging me to go with her.

What sort of hell am I in for? Is it even possible for me to suggest she takes lessons for the first couple of days or do I have to go down the same greens while she eats it ever 10 yards?

Anyone ever had a similar experience?

At least the first day. If she's never skied before.

You should try to find a second couple to go, preferably with a female who's never been either, or you're going to have a terrible time.

I'm a girl and my first time skiing was in college. If she doesn't want to take ski school she's a total potato.

Is it just the 2 of you going? Post ski school, it definitely wouldn't hurt for you to take some of the easy slopes with her. I'm sure she'd appreciate the support because it is sort of scary at first. Does she have a noob ski buddy she can pair off with while you hit some of he more intense stuff?

you will not be hitting the slopes hard on this trip most likely

2 options for the first day
1. you teach her and deal with all the bullshite (sucks for you but if you don't act like a total douche she will want to frick the shite out of you for being such a gentleman)
2. enroll her in adult ski school and ski hard by yourself and meet up later (depending on the girl she may have no problem with this, or hate you for it)

next time go with a group of various skill levels, a ski trip will always suck for somebody unless there are enough numbers of similar skilled skiers

You're fricked bro. She'll never be able to catch up to you. Get a good wine skin and just get hammered. Hit it hard after a few days whenever she's tired and wants to go shopping

Unfortunately, I have. I was young and stupid and decided she needed to learn as I did. I took her up the top top and told her I would see her at the bottom. It was a disaster. She was crying, I was 20 yards downhill trying to slowly get back up the hill. People were staring. Ski Patrol got involved. Just terrible. We laugh about it now though.

Boyfriend Advice: pay for her lessons. While she takes her lessons, you can hit the big slopes and carve it up. Then, take her to the easiest slopes there are and enjoy the shite out of them. Let her pick what slopes she is comfortable with.

Experienced Old Man Advice: you should have gone on the guys trip.

you know your gf, not us. if she's high-maintenance and clingy/needy then that sounds awful. if not then she'll take lessons, you'll do some runs with her after each and then start pushing her to do harder and harder stuff. get to the point where you can hit the trees next to a groomer so you can ride lift together a lot. and then just drink a lot.

eta: when I say push, I mean patiently encourage her to leave comfort zone. that's how you get better.

Yeah, I'll bet she wants him to hang around when she does lessons.

I bet she would be real fired up to go on this trip if she knew you were talking about her like this.

If she has never been before just lay back and hang out with her while she learns. If you really want to ditch her to "hit the slopes hard" why did you even invite her to go?
