Attending a wedding downtown this Saturday and the plan was to hit up Bourbon St after, but forgot about the holiday. I know it's not like the Bayou Classic, but curious to know if anyone works down there and has any insight.

Unless you have a dream to get shot in the face, steer clear.

It will be no different than normal. There is no big event that draws in the crowd you're worried about.

Just seek the cozy confines of the VIP area at Hustler Club. Get the shrimp pasta.

do blacks celebrate MLK? like is there a parade or something?

if not, I'm sure Bourbon will be just as crappy as it always is

You're from Slidell and you still go to Bourbon St? You need to get to the city more.

Bourbon Street sucks no matter what holiday or time of year.

Somehow I knew you'd be here to spout off with that. Hopefully you've actually been and aren't just relying on second hand info again.
