Former LSU and NFL wide receiver Michael Clayton is set to begin his publicity tour for his first self-published book Chasing My Rookie Year: The Michael Clayton Story, an autobiography and inspirational memoir of success on and off the field, in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Clayton will host a book signing after guest speaking at the Blue Cross Blue Shield's annual Martin Luther King Day celebration on Thursday January 16. He has also finalizing details for a highly publicized book signing at the LSU Barnes & Noble on Friday, January 17 from 5 to 7pm.

Clayton is one of the most celebrated athletes to ever play football at LSU. His three consecutive years as an LSU Tiger led to 2 SEC championships and a BCS title.

Clayton was a first round pick, 15th overall, in the 2004 NFL Draft for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a stellar rookie year, Clayton never achieved that level of success again in the years following. After six years with the Tampa Bucs, Clayton signed with the NY Giants in 2010, and became part of a Super Bowl champion team in 2012.

Glad to see this former Tiger doing well, one hell of a player and person.

I was curious if this would be talked about in the book, on Amazon you can read the preface and he talks about injuries but no mention of alcohol.

Mike was on the sidelines at the Bowl Game in Tampa with his kids. He looked good and was really excited about this book. I hope its a success.

Loved Clayton when he was here. Had all the talent necessary to be a force in the league.

I just can't believe he has interest for a book.
