I had the opportunity to watch Mud last night on EPIX (that channel is awesome sometimes, BTW) and I have to say I was very entertained. I think it was a great performance from the kid who played Ellis.

There's really nothing unforgettable about the movie, but it was still an all around good film. Some of the cinematography, like the shots of the water at dusk or the motor making a wake for a few seconds behind the boat...just nice touches.

Anyone else like "Mud"? McConaughey must be contractually obligated to remove his shirt in every movie. I guess I would too if I were him.

Well-received on this board, and by audiences and critics in general. I enjoyed it, cinematography definitely stood out.

I find it amusing how McConaughey has turned into such a reliable actor, and now I take notice of any works that he is in. He really has been knocking his roles out of the park.

I think they have toned down his profuse sweating in past roles

I liked mud. Good flick. I saw it months ago however and don't remember much more than who was in it and that there was an island and a boat.

Loved it. Raw dialogue, no special effects and good character development. The kids killed it.

I liked it better than Dallas Buyers Club.

One of my favorite movies in the last 5 years.

Great movie about young men coming of age. The child actors were incredible.

If you're doing a movie set in the South, it's always key to let the world know we don't have air conditioning, dentists, or washing machines.

Very nostalgic, which usually doesn't work for me, but worked for me here.

Good flick.

I wanted to kill myself in DBC. I've never been so miserable in a movie before.

I really liked it and was surprised I had not heard much about it. Good story, character development and great cinematography. I've never been the biggest McConaughey fan, but I thought he was very good as well.

It looks very good, and I am pleased to see Matthew McConaughey acting in much better movies these days instead of piece of shite chick flicks.

I disagree. I think the way the movie is able to be 1 part coming of age story and 1 part crime thriller is very unique and uforgettable
