So I'm in need of a good, versatile workboot. Something that stands up to the mud, rain, woods, stomping shovels, general yard work. Also something I could wipe clean & wear with a pair of jeans. Don't think steel toe is necessary and of course comfortable. What and where should I look. Thanks OB, I know you'll come through.

Timberland Earthkeeper's Rugged Boot

I have been having this pair of boots for about 2 yrs now and wear them for just about anything Im doing outdoor related unless hipboots are needed and they dress up pretty nice with a pair of jeans.

My Justin 10" slip-ons have done the trick for me. If you are in the woods a bunch, consider lace-ups. I wore them with a suit to a wedding last year

I would go Georgia Boot wellingtons. With jeans they'll look like ropers, but you can beat them up.

On topic, my Justins fit that bill and is how I use them. Keep 'em oil with some mink oil once a month or so and they stay waterproof

Lace or slip on?

Lace - Danner
Slip-on - Justin

I regret not getting the waterproof Justins. The ones I wanted hadn't come out yet though.

There is only so much water beeswax can keep out of a boot. I can get a solid 10 minutes without water getting in, but that's it. Wouldn't suggest waterproof ones to a regular boot wearing guy though because they can get hot

Slip on, so I'm looking at the Justin's then? Any specific ones or just any slip-ones that I like. Where's the best place to go try them on. I'm in mandeville.

Sorry, but I don't know Mandeville area that well. After you try them on, Cavenders may beat the price.

LINK

I have had these for two years and they have done the trick especially during the winter. They can get hot during the summer so I have another non waterproof pair I use a lot. You can get them cheaper than that price as well.

I'm thinking of picking up a pair the Australian work boot called Blundstone.

These are the ones I have. I've had them for about 5-6 years and they are comfy and have held up. I'm not as rough as some on work boots but I've definitely done a lot in them.
