Can the retired players with pre-exisiting conditions now be herded into Obamacare? If the federal government was competent (I know, AHAHAHAHA) with regards to providing accurate premium costs and the increases over the comign years to be anticipated, that could help set a dollar amount based on the number of players to benefit from a settlement.

But since we live in reality, nevermind.

Saints (or any other team Roger doesn't like) better not get out of line or they'll be targeted for some other BS to get the focus off of the concussion issue.

It wasn't nearly enough. Most people with the knowledge of the case were stunned it was less than 1B

I had no knowledge of the case but when it was announced I did some quick math in my head and knew the players were getting screwed!

Obviously, no. I can't remember where I heard it, but it was something ridiculously low when you factor in atty fees and all the other stipulations.

Judges have the power in all cases to reject a proposed settlement between the parties, but usually if the parties are agreeable to a settlement, the judge usually goes along with it instead of dragging things out.

I wonder if the judge wasn't concerned that the lawyers were getting the goldmine while the players were getting the shaft (RIP Jerry Reed ).

I believe the final number was about $170K per player
