Only ever seem to hear about surgical intervention. My job is a typical job that is perfectly suited to give carpal tunnel. It is my right hand/arm. Hurting now to grab pen etc.

Any docs, PT, OT or sufferers like me who found success with an exercise or techniques to reduce or reverse signs and symptoms? Have a rest for my keypad and am now looking at something for mouse to keep wrist neutral.

Get fitted for supportive braces.

No surgery means fricked up dick skinners from now on. I would revisit that choice, if it were me.

It really has just begun to be noticeable in the last few weeks. I don't want to immediately go to surgery.

Pick up a brace to wear at night. Increase Magnesium in your diet. Layoff spanky time for a while.

Study going into what kind and for how long. The 'just at night group' did very well. The 'all the time' group did slightly better. 6-week commitment to a brace/splint to follow the structure of the study.

5 weeks ago I had cubital tunnel and carpal tunnel surgery on my left elbow/hand. Mine was to the point of pain and complete numbnes. Still not 100% but well worth the surgery. I would do it again to the other am if needed.

Go see a neurologist and have two nerve conduction studies done on your median nerve, 6-8 weeks apart. If the second test shows degeneration, then it's carpal tunnel. If not, then it may be just tendonitis or overuse syndrome. For now, warm up in the morning with heat pads or parrafin wax dip, and cool down at night with ice. If the ice helps a lot, it may not be nerve related at all.

Yes, I've had the surgery.

Brace helped me. I don't even wear it anymore unless it starts to bother me.
