I agree Lacy had a great season. No doubt about that. But comparing a RB and a WR stat wise isnt a fair way to judge.
Gotta look at how big an impact each had on the team. Allen is the best skill player on his team, and was a huge part in turning Rivers back into a very good QB, and was a huge part in getting the Chargers back into the playoffs. When Rivers threw the ball to Keenan Allen, his QBR was 4th best in the league. Thats really impressive.
And Keenan was huge down the stretch for San Diego, when they needed him the most. Rare to see a rookie step up in the big time games and moments like he did.

Still think Lacy takes it, but I loved me some Allen this year. Best waiver pickup I had all year.

13 1000 yard rushers this season
24 1000 yard receivers this season
That makes Lacy's season a little more impressive

How in the world can you say Allen had a bigger impact than Lacy? He carried that team with Rodgers out. Alex Green led them in yards last year with 426. This was the first time they've had a 1000 yard rusher since 2009.

Patterson made a strong push at the end, but it should go to Keenan Allen. Patterson is so dynamic with the ball in his hands. He is a joke.

The Packer's wouldn't have sniffed the playoffs if it wasn't for Eddie Lacy. They lost Aaron Rodgers for 8 games and their leading WR Randall Cobb for 10.
Lacy was the Packer's first 1000 yard rusher since 2009.

Lacy was third in the entire league in rushing touchdowns, eighth in rushing yards and was one of only two running backs to fumble just once while carrying the ball more than 250 times
He did all of this while missing 2 games and finishing the last 3 games of the year on a bum ankle.

Lacy is ROY and it's not really close

No it doesnt. Again, comparing RB and WR stats isnt a fair way to judge. People throw a bunch now. And you get bigger chunks of yards when you throw. Which creates more WRs getting more yards.
I mean yea Lacy had more yards. Also had way more touches. See how it works?? Yeah Lacy was 1 of 13 RBs to rush for over 1,000 yards, out of 32 teams. Keenan Allen was 1 of 24 WRs to go over 1,000 yards this year. But there are usually 2 or more WRs on the field, while there is usually just 1 RB on the field.
And without Rodgers, the Packers went 2-5-1. So yea he was good, but didn't turn it into a lot of wins.
Never said Lacy didnt have a huge impact. He did. And I know what he did this year. Very impressive. Not saying its not.
But Keenan Allen just had a bigger year than Lacy did. And was their best player when they needed him to be. 936yards and 8 TDs in their last 13 games. And only dropped 5 balls on 104 passes his way. And brought the Chargers back into the playoffs.
Both are awesome. Not saying that 1 isnt. Nothing like that. Just think that Allen was a bigger part of his teams success. And Allen will win it.
Actually Larry Warford could win it.

Again, comparing RB and WR stats isnt a fair way to judge
But comparing them to their peers is
Again, 13 1000 yard rushers, 24 1000 yard receivers.
4 players did what Lacy did (1,100+ rushing yards and 10+ TDs)
12 players did what Allen did (1,000+ receiving yards and 8+ TDs)
quote:
Keenan Allen just had a bigger year than Lacy did
So 400 less yards and 3 less TDs despite playing at a position that put up better numbers this season = a bigger year. K.

Dude how many RBs usually play per snap?? A FB and a RB. And a FB, at most, will get 5 carries a game.
How many pass catchers are usually on the field per snap? 2 WRs , a TE, RB, and FB. If not a FB it's another WR or TE. So there is usually 5 pass catchers on the field most plays.
When a team runs the ball, 95% of the time it goes to the RB. When a team passes the ball, it can go to multiple players. And with 5 pass catchers on the field on the field, you have a 20% chance of getting the ball.
Again, comparing a RB to a WR off of stats isn't an accurate portrayal. And stats don't tell everything.
And I'm not saying lacy isn't deserving. He is. Just think Allen gets it.
