Someone tried to buy something from a Solstice store in Massachusetts and they notified me immediately and called me. A few questions and they'd taken the charges off and a new card is on the way. "BJ" took care of it. I couldn't be happier.

Happened to me the night of the LSU-A&M game. I got two phone calls, a text, and an email from AMEX. Someone had my card number from when I used it in Costa Rica 16 months before.

AMEX has been very good on my fraudulent charges. My Chase card sent me an email and all I had to do was click yes this charge was authorized or no if not. At least if it was an authorized charge it would go through after I clicked yes. It would suck though if someone stole my phone and credit card.

AMEX swings a big stick. Card holders love them. Merchants hate them because (in addition to the high processing fees) AMEX doesn't take any shite from them if you have a legitimate reason and dispute the charge.

Somebody hacked my iTunes account for $1,700. I called and had a $1,700 credit posted to my account within the hour.

My daughter misplaced her wedding dress at the Windsor Court before leaving on her honeymoon. I called AMEX and within 2 hours they called me back to tell me they located the dress. Also, the AMEX offices in foreign cities are like mini U.S. Embassies. They are simply fantastic.

I've been a card holder for 56 years.

As a new AMEX member all of this is very comforting. I must say I've been super impressed with their customer service the few times I have interacted with them.

"But...but....but with bitcoin, merchants don't have to worry about reversal of charges. All sales are final. See how great bitcoin is?"

We should have some sort of race, cannonball run style, and you have to get from point A to point B (should include a decent amount of travel) and pit an amex card vs bitcoin holder.

I had a fradulent charge around 3:00pm on a Friday and by 10:00am Saturday morning there was a new card on my doorstep. Their customer service is the gold standard.
