Because I thought he did a great job. Your D was vastly overrated this year, and AJ was a good, but not great QB. That O kept you guys in games. Could he have ran the ball more? Sure, but with that D, he had to score some points. I think you guys are going to miss him.

Nuss should have told his player to stay in bounds 1 more second!!

Then, he'd still have his job

j/k Bama fans.

He honestly just never fit. He felt like Major Applewhite but with better results. Balance is good but not just for the sake of balance. You have to be able to slow the game down and run and he seemed unwilling to do that at times. That said I think our passing this year was more of a result of our OL inability to take a game over like last year.

Nuss didn't give up 45 points to OU and 34 to auburn.

A lot of that he had no control over. I felt like he masked the Oline, and Yeldon's fumble problems well. He had an experianced QB, and utilized that. If Kiffin is hired, he won't be an upgrade. USCs O took off when Lane was fired.

I don't know that Alabama doesn't necessarily want DN. It may be he just wanted a change of scenery. I don't know what to think about Kiffin. I eally dislike him and their offense was abysmal at USC however, his issue may have been trying to do more that he was capable of carrying. It would be like Saban acting as DC and HC. One or the other has to suffer or both.

I said this on the Bama forum; when you score 28 and 31, when was the last time a Bama team wouldn't have been assured of a win? Not very often lately. In every game, the offense did more than enough to win. The defense and special teams sucked balls both games and were too much for the offense to overcome. The turnovers didn't help but with even a little help from the D, they still could have won both games.

No one is blaming Nuss for those losses. That's squarely on Saban and Smart. The fans became less enamored with Nuss after the goal line stand last year in the aTm game.

This. He gave the offense a deadly passing dynamic.

Kiffin is a downgrade from Nuss IMO.

Because of one game in a season in which you still won the National Championship, curb stomping Notre Dame in the process? Jeebus H.

By the way, that loss is also on Saban and Smart because they decided they'd spot A&M 20 points before putting their big boy pants on.

yeah not saying its fair but fans are fans. I am taking a wait and see approach on this hire. I would rather us have changed secondary coaches. He cant recruit and our secondary played like crap this past year and yes I know they were young but we never settles on anyone and saw little improvement. Our defense didn't show steady improvement throughout the season like they have every year.

I thought Saban was the secondary coach?

Seeing how Nuss left makes me think he wanted off of the flagship.

Not upset. Won't know about "happy" until this time next year when we see results. I will say his play calling did start getting very predictable. Not in the good way, either.

No, he was the best OC we've had under Saban. We would've lost at least 2 more games with McElwain (aka Mr. Field Goal) as OC
