Western Kentucky: Chad Bishop of the Bowling Green Daily News reports Bobby Petrino has accepted the head coaching position at Louisville, and a replacement at WKU could be named within the next couple of days. USA Today's Dan Wolken reports offensive coordinator Todd Brohm interviewed with athletic director Todd Stewart on Tuesday.

From Pete Roussel.

crazy.

i'm sure there are some card fans ecstatic but i imagine many of them feel shamed that their school/team would stoop to having him again. i feel for them, truly.

They kept Pitino, so this should seem normal.

Yeah, talk about having to twist yourself into a pretzel. They hated him for years for the stuff he pulled (Planegate, long term contract, bolting for ATL).

I don't see it that way but I respect your opinion. They're getting a really good coach. I believe in taking risks. I think there's very little to lose in this situation if they play their cards right.

I'm not sure how I feel about coaches returning to jobs, especially after so many years and burned bridges.

Go to their scout board. They are on cloud 9. They had a WR decommit today because he doesn't want to play for Petrino and they are bashing the recruits character

Louisville fans are calling him an idiot and a racist for not wanting to play for Petrino. They are truly a delusional fan base

Well, I wasn't one wanting him fired in the first place. I thought there were other viable options...but that's just me.

Giving a mistress a job and lying to the AD about the relationship and about the wreck, etc. Just an affair isn't a problem his actions to the school and the AD was a huge problem.

like you said earlier i do respect your opinion but imo we made the right decision in firing him.

i thought it then, i think it now and i'll think it 10 years down the road even if we are still sitting at 3-9.

as MThawg said, it's not the affair, i don't care if he was banging every woman in nwa.

That's one way of looking at it. We also could have used it as an opportunity to let him prove his remorse with serious repercussions for failing to do so. I honestly don't think Bobby will make a similar mistake. Just don't let him hire any females and rewrite his contract to help with his reformation.
