I just have a hard time believing that Long knew about Dorrell, because Petrino could have pulled the "if I'm going down, you're going down with me" card behind closed doors after the wreck if that were the case. It'd have come out by now.

Not necessarily. Sometimes, in order to beat a shitter, one has to out-shite the shitter. I get the feeling there's a lot more that was going on than we'll ever know...not any time soon anyway. I think Jeff had some aces he was holding onto in his pocket and Petrino knew it.

If so, I believe they'll remain there.

Absolutely Long knew Petrino was porking Dorell.

Long also knew McGee was porking the Lady Gymnastic coach which caused them to have their marriage issues.

You guys really didn't think Garrick took the UAB job for the actual job, right? His wife made him....

well gosh dang hawgeye who else is bumping uglies?

if long knew then, there had to have been about 20 things bp had done that long had in his pocket that kept bp from causing even more of a scene.

Long never liked Petrino because he wouldn't so everything he asked.

Petrino was never in danger of being fired, but once it came out about him hiring the chick there wasn't much he could do.

I just remembered that I saw Garrick McGee at Zales in the NWA Mall while I was getting my wife's engagement ring in another store. I wonder if he was buying for his wife or his side piece.

edit: this was August 2010

this will cost money and games,

"Petrino’s WKU contract includes clauses in which the oft-traveled coach must repay the school $1.2 million in six installments beginning a month after he leaves, while the program that hires him must agree to schedule a two-year home-and-home series with WKU."

imo, they were the smartest school to ever take a chance on him. they knew he wouldn't stay but they made it absolutely certain him screwing them over would only result in them basically having him coach them for free for 2 years.

I'm not a lawyer. How can a contract between WKU and Petrino require a third party to do something in the event that Petrino leaves WKU?

Probably side piece.

You guys know that the gymnastic coaches were married and co head coaches, right?

Everyone knew that in the department.

Yeah, I knew that bit.

I remember thinking, "Hey, that's Garrick McGee. Guess he's using that fat paycheck to buy his wife something nice. These coaches are real family men."

edit: I had no clue.

But that's arkansas fault for hiring a crook in the first place.

I don't think it can.

Probably had a clause to increase the buyout if Petrino didn't get the home and home in his new contract.
