WTF does it even matter where they left for when they still left?

NO college job is a destination job b/c when the NFL really wants you, you be gone.

Last time the head coach at Penn State left to coach somewhere else: 1917. The 5 coaches between then and coach O'Brien all finished their careers at PSU.

And JEAUX, I do agree that the pressure might be greater at Penn State, but like LSU, the rewards of success are also greater.

in 2014, Louisville...

still too much of the cult of Paterno in and around Penn State, this is a case of having to go through more than one guy until things settle down...

The cult fans are mainly just on message boards. In real life, most PSU fans are pretty rational, many even wanted Joe Pa fired in the early 2000's

If I was an up and coming coach I'd go Louisville. Penn State has crazy expectations and sevre sanctions, seems like a great place to kill a career.

Bill O'Brien did well there but I still think he got tired of dealing with the Pateno faction

Ahh, I get it. O'Brien was talking about the Paterno people from the message boards that were a pain in his arse.

I hear from my PSU friends all the time about they hate the Board of Supervisors and that they need to bring the Paterno statue back. it is so cult like.

It's an us vs the world burden that will be hard to shake for any new coach for a long time.

Yeah you clearly don't know Penn State fans. These clowns to the east of us worship the ground Joe walked on. Joe was their alter.

UofL is one of the best spring board jobs in the country.

PSU is a cluster right now with the JoePa worshipers budding in your business.

ETA: I know not all PSU fans are like this.

Penn State....more glory involved if you keep them on the upswing. Whoever takes that job and wins ...shocked to say this, but Penn State could be a stepping stone to a better job in College.
