Pretty good, although slightly pompous, article from a national publication about the sinkhole down near Pierre Part.

Maybe Geismar is more than an endless procession of chain-link fences, cylindrical storage tanks and smokestacks that look like shorn, sun-blasted tree trunks. If so, I missed it. The most vibrant place I found was a gas station that advertised pork cracklings, its air thick with dust and grease. For more expensive diversion, there is a strip club in town called the Crazy Horse Cabaret, with one Yelp review advising to "ask for the Puerto Rican."

Bump. Good article if anyone is interested in it.

I bet the Puerto Rican is making a killing with her free national exposure thanks to the plug from this article.

My Parents live 2 miles from there. Last week we were talking about the amount of people with cancer in the region..... There's a connection there, no doubt.

But hey, I make my living in the Petrochem industry......

The article hits on "Cancer Alley" quite a bit.
