Piling on Moyes

I'll just leave this here:

Tell him to send Martinez the other way

I've been a broken record all season, but I really, really dislike Moyes.
He looks like he'd be trying to kill Bruce Willis for some reason, his gameplan looks like it was put together by someone who has played FIFA a few times, and he's handing out wins of a lifetime to any team who wants one at Old Trafford. It's like Sir Alex Ferguson left, and United just packed it in and turned it into a tourist destination. "Make the trip over, and you too can be a winner at Old Trafford!" He isn't charming, witty, or interesting enough to help his case, and he's never slid full out in suit pants in celebration (Stop setting the bar so high, Jose). To be fair, there hasn't been much to celebrate at United this season.
He has no redeeming qualities, and I hate him.

Reminded me of the Hodgson hire... small club mentality at a big club...

I'm starting to believe the theory thrown around that SAF picked him to further solidify his legacy.

This is always the case for the first coach to come in after a legend. Ask Ray Perkins, or Mike Archer.
The only "small-club" mentality is with the players who decide not to play for that small-club manager, because they're too big-time for him. It's not Moyes fault, necessarily, just like it wasn't Hodgson's fault, either. After all, Hodgson is well-respected around the world, except in Liverpool.

I disagree. His tactics have always been "small-club," IMO. Its showing now.

Yeah, this definitely is not going on at United.

Hard to play for him when you're on the bench.

I'm beginning to feel the same way.

I laughed, not because I hate UTD, but because I went through exactly what you are going through now.

Yep. Welcome to the real world United supporters. Time to earn your keep. Sitting through the darkest days I always drew some fricked up strength from the fact that, as a fan, I had to endure the misery of losing constantly and getting made fun of on the reg. Not something United fans are used to, but at least when this is all said and done and you're back on top you can take pride in the fact that you stuck it out. Unlike 90% of American soccer fans who go where the wind (wins) takes them.

It's not that Moyes is necessarily a poor tactician or lousy in the transfer market. He proved worthy in both respects while at Everton.
I think the clout of Ferguson still hangs over United far more than anyone realized. Obviously taking over for the greatest manager ever was going to be a ridiculously difficult situation to begin with, but it also came with other unforeseen caveats.
Many players want to sign for United simply because of the clout of playing for Fergie. Not even Wenger, Guardiola and Mourinho have that kind of sway for players. The United squad going into this summer was already fairly shallow (by United's lofty standards) with the exception of the stable of forwards. Vidic and especially Ferdinand are not near their once dominant primes. Smalling and Evans aren't quite the replacements. Fergie got out right when he realized it would take a very expensive overhaul of the inept midfield.
These issues were compounded when Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool (by not selling Suarez), and Everton (through loans) all dramatically improved in the transfer market this summer.

Pep took over for Jupp and he's fine. Moyes is just dirty brown water trash.

Different situations. Man U last year had all the problems of Man U this year, and were saved by Fergie. The core of BM's team is still in their prime, whereas Man U has plenty of players who are past it or not elite players.
Pep might be the greatest thinker about the sport since Rinus Michels. Moyes is your typical British manager, pragmatic, conservative and principled. He's not a bad coach, but he's not a great one either. I wouldn't trust him to rebuild the team though. I think he gets one more year, as I'm not sure the Glazers care about anything other than the bottom line.
