Hindsight is 20/20 and I'm not complaining about a win, but Stephen Rivers has had a ton more reps at this level than AJ. Only the coaches know, but it's baffling.

Probably because the staff is grooming AJ?

That's my guess.

Looks like you answered your own query.

It will be an open competition going into the spring with AJ having a slight edge I'm guessing.

If rivers/retting/Harris can show they are better then I'd expect the job to be theirs.

IMHO Jennings gets the nod though.

How ya figure? Rivers spent a season as backup and got a series or two handing off the ball last year. Jennings also spent a season as backup, played on a critical drive against Arkansas, got a months worth of prep as the starter and played an entire game. so tell me how in the hell Rivers has more reps?

It begs the question though. If Rivers is that poor of a choice why is he still on scolly and the team. Is he being groomed as a coach then?

Because a guy who's been in the program 4 years didn't start over a guy with one year experience...and the ensuing results of the start.

Coaches only see practice reps and they thought a true freshman should be #2 ahead of a RS So. Jennings can improve big time between now and August. He'll be the starter.

QB depth has been a problem, so I can see why we keep him, but you do wonder why he would stick around.
