Man stabs his fiance in bucktown then answers door with knife

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office identified the victim of a fatal stabbing Saturday night in Metairie as 26-year-old Jessica Broussard.

Her assailant and reported boyfriend, 29-year-old Noah Scott, was fatally shot by the police after he ignored several orders to drop a knife he was holding.

Deputies were contacted at 10:25 p.m. by a neighbor in the 1300 block of Pier Avenue, who reported that a woman was lying on his front lawn, Sheriff's Office spokesman John Fortunato said.

Witnesses said Scott was seen chasing Broussard across the street from her home, 1342 Pier Ave. He caught up with her on the front lawn of a home directly across the street from the home Scott shared with his parents, officials said. "That's where he began to stab her repeatedly," Fortunato siad.

"After doing so, he walked back across the street to his residence," the spokesman said.
