The only criticism about AJ in the game is this...it does no good to have an athletic QB if he doesn't use his feet and run with the football when protection breaks down. Too many such guys appear afraid of being pigeon-holed as runner and not a passer. They want a pro career and therefore won't run even if it's in the teams best interest sometimes. If that's going to be the case, just play the best passer, no matter if he can't run at all. Give me a Mett who can at least pass it well, even if he has concrete for feet...lol...

Thats just it, he's not very athletic..Oh, he can run, and extend plays when he has to, but he's more pro-style than anything..

I'm just an LSU fan that is tired of excuses...from the coaches, the players, and the fans...as much as I despise out most hated opposing coach, he demanded more from his players...and in the long run that gets more respect. And that's what our beloved coach needs to do, demand more action and less excuses and running of mouths....all the talking and jiving won't win a NC...in fact, it's a psychological fact that lots of bs talking works against winning performances...jmho

A few years ago, "JJ runs too much".

Now, "AJ doesn't run enough".

I didn't know how to respond to that, and that doesn't happen to me quite often.

It is MUCH easier to teach a quarterback to run that is to get him NOT to run. That's actually not a bad problem to have right now.

What excuses?
Since you have obviously attended lots of LSU practices under both coaches would LSU be better if Miles screamed, jumped around and acted like a spoiled 3 year old ?

I started going to practices back when G.D. was coach....but that is not relevant here...all I'm saying is if A.J. is not going to avoid sacks by using his feet, give Rivers a chance to complete a few passes....unless they want to run him off because he can't cut it....and btw, I was never a JJ basher. In college, give me a guy that can pass first, but if pressure comes, the QB should use his feet if he's capable....this is not the pros!!!

No, I was one of the more supportive fans of Jordan Jefferson and still think he was one of the toughest players in LSU history. For my money, give me a college QB that can get the job done...not one worried about his pro career...I don't like or follow pro football...I've followed LSU sports for over 50 years...and I can debate you on many subjects...just pick one and you'll find out...my post is about the QB play in the bowl game...it was not very good...he took too many sacks...and when a QB is not on target, he needs to help his team any way he can...and he did not in mho...case closed for me!

Phil is correct. AJ is too athletic not to run the ball several times a game. It will make things easier for him in the passing game. He'll figure it out. Id rather have a guy that u have to kick in the arse to run vs one thats thinking run before the snap.

You cant start talking about the Heisman with a freshman after one drive. And u cant say he thinks he's Drew Brees after one bowl game against a veteran team either. He had command of the huddle, he's going to be a good player. If we can run the football, AJ will make plenty of plays.

He's 1-0 in bowl games and has led a huge comeback winning drive.
