Was given a bunch of frozen deer meat yesterday and most is labeled from Oct and Dec '11. The rest is from Jan '12. Is it still good and if so how much longer will it be good for?

Vacuum sealed last longer, but you will be pushing it...

As long as it's not freezer burned it's good to go.

Should be good if it's packaged well

Get a vacuum sealer, just wrapped in freezer paper probably not good, but you won't know until you open it

Our meat has very rarely become freezer. We've had a lot of meat still very good after 4-5 years. We double wrap ours but don't use a vacuum sealer. If your meat was put up right and double wrapped, it should still be good; if single wrapped, maybe not. Bottom line, just check it out and see.

Freezer burned? If not, good to go.
