3 of the 5 were to teams who have a first round bye in the playoffs.

Of those 3 losses to top 4 teams, we were leading 2 of them in the last minute of the game.

If our issues playing football on the road were as drastic as some in the media (and in our own fanbase) make it seem, then it's odd to me that we were so competitive with good teams.

Our biggest issue this year has been the offensive line, and it really seems like we've had the misfortune this year of playing some nasty defensive fronts away from the Superdome.

So yes we play worse on the road, but I don't necessarily believe we play worse BECAUSE we're on the road. I would attribute our struggles more to the teams we have played and the poor ways in which we matched up against them.

Flame away. I think we win Saturday night.

Tough schedule this season. @New England @Seattle @Chicago + road divisional games.

I had us around 10-12 wins, and they are 2 first downs from 13 wins. The Saints are a damn good team, but it's no secret that teams with physical lines match up well against them. I think the Saints get a win this weekend, and gain some confidence going to Seattle. The Eagles are not a good defensive team, and lack the physical pass rush that gets to Saints rattled. Not sure if they have much of a chance there, but they will be competitive this time around.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but the Saints statistically had the 3rd toughest away schedule this season.

not sarcastic, we have the hardest schedule of all playoff teams by 5 wins. closest playoff caliber team to have the harder schedule was arizona who ended up 10-6

I think part of the reason this team is criticized so much for its play on the road is that they are so bad arse at home.

I mean the games just aren't even close. The only close one was the 49ers game and the season opener vs. ATL.

it works both ways though. While we were only a few plays away from winning the New England, Jets, and Carolina games, we also were only a few plays away from losing others.

like both ATL games, the first game against Tampa, and the 49ers game.

I don't think there are any real dominant teams in the NFL this year. I guess that is what I hang my hat on as we get ready for this weekend.

I feel like we can beat the Eagles but their speed on both sides of the ball bothers me. They can run the ball well and that is one thing the Saints have struggled with the most this year on defense. When we start fast, we usually go on to win the game. But when we stagger out of the gate, like against Seattle and St. Louis and even up in New England.. things just go differently.

Starting off slow and Drew getting no time go hand in hand. It usually results in a pick, then it snoballs.

I'm only half joking when I say this, but Payton should have Drew hand the ball off the entire 1st quarter.

Not to be a debby downer but the Jets and Rams aren't exactly great teams

Yeah but the Jets & Rams both have really good defensive lines that took advantage of our offensive line issues. They both also are heavy run teams that control the clock. The combination of those aspects has proven to be a formula for beating Payton/Brees lead teams.

Yup, like a hold em player sitting down first hands at a cash game and getting quads then losing on the river to a straight flush.

Tilt, raise, lose, raise, lose, burried

Drew Brees TD:INT = 27-3 at home
Drew Brees TD:INT = 12-9 away

Drew Brees QBR = 110 (or so) at home
Drew Brees QBR = 84 away

Brees HAS GOT to play better on the road. We all know the line sucks, so does he by now. He's GOT to be more aware of when the pocket is closing. Move around a little if need be, and my God don't throw stupid passes just to avoid a sack. He's made a few very questionable decisions, none more glaring than that toss up to a triple covered Jimmy Graham a few weeks back against STL, this year. We can definitely score against Philly. Our offense doesn't concern me one bit this week. Our defense has to stop McCoy and our secondary can't let Cooper or DJax get behind them. We play well on defense, no way we lose this game.

I don't know why our O-Line sucks so bad.

We have two pro bowl guards. Strief isn't terrible. Is having a bad LT really dragging the whole line down? I guess so because they are pitiful on the road
