The Mrs. and I are going to Key West for a few days next week. Need a break from the cold and enjoy the area.

Anyone have suggestions or warnings? We are staying at Ocean Key resort on the Southernmost point area.

Wanna get day drunk? Go to the Wharf.

Wanna have fun and chill at night and people watch? Willie T's.

Go to the Bull and Kettle Whistle for good music and good bar.

Just walk up and down Duvall.

Go by the Waldorf Astoria outside bar during the day and eat some fritters and drink an Orange Crush (made by Jan or Darren). They have their own private beach.

GO eat at Martin's.

Do not do touristy things like jet ski or scuba dive. Waste of time. NO waves is cool, but not for the money they'll ask.

It's a great town. Duvall Street is Bourbon minus the piss smell, college drunks, "People who Annoy You", and 187's.

I go to the keys pretty much every year but I've never stayed in key west honestly

I know if you like bars you will have a great time. It's a little like New Orleans in the sense that there is some old architecture and you can drink outside. I'de say just grab some drinks and bar hop

If you want to go to go to a beach for one day, take a 20 minute drive and go to Bahia Honda park. Beautiful

Food is great pretty much everywhere, but someone else could give you better suggestions on food in key west. If you feel like venturing off key west, the square grouper on cudjoe island is awesome

Was there years ago...

Raw Bar was good - seafood, drinks, etc.

Hemingway house tour.

Go see the sunset on one of the old bridges heading into Key West.

Hell yeah it is! Went on one to KW a while back and it was a blast. As was stated earlier, Duval is a cleaner version of Bourbon. You don't have little thugs and trash to mess with your good time for the most part.
Most of the tourist are flying there so they have some money and some class it seems.
Lots of cool arse bars and great restaurants.
The snorkling and fishing are top notch.

Agreed both on KW and Bahia Honda as amazing places, but since they are 57 miles apart you may want to advize the OP to drive something less than 171 miles per hour & just enjoy the ride

Louie's backyard is a nice spot with a few different choices for dining / hanging out. Pepe's had a good breakfast.

Breakfast at Rick's Blue Heaven
Happy hour at Alonzo's oyster bar. 1/2 price drinks and apps. Good food and drink.
We've never actually made it to the Lobster house upstairs but heard it was really good.
Omelets at Pepe's.
Go diving or do a fishing charter.
Enjoy Sunset festival and the entertainers.

Of coarse. Lots of "bachelors" in Key West.
