So what is that like 12" of gel? Is that what someone's insides would do if hit if they were 12" thick? Or is gell meant to stop rounds?

My 300 blackout killed 2 deer in 2 days. One was shot high on the left side and the bullet lodged in his right shoulder. He was almost right under me so I shot him high on purpose. He ran about 20-30 yards before going down. The second one was shot by my gf. She shot it behind the shoulder and a fragment went up and severed the spine, the rest of the bullet exited the other side and the deer dropped in his tracks. I shoot 110gr barnes tac tx and apparently they are very lethal.

I think the block is 20" but I could be confusing this channel with TNoutdoors9.

It's mainly used as a basis to compare the ballistics of a variety of bullets. It simulates muscle tissue with the same water composition but doesn't simulate bone. It is simply a standard that all are measured by.

This round is a hollow point so is obviously designed to penetrate little and expand quickly. A round like the Barnes round mentioned in a previous post would give much more uniform expansion without the fragmenting effect.

It's illegal to hunt with my 300BLK. But stories like these sure make me wish I could.

Huh? A '06, 308, 270, 260, 6.5, 6.8 280, and many many more do much more damage and carry buckets more energy.

The 300blk is just a modern 30-30 that can be made silent.

Why is it illegal to hunt with your 300 blackout? I've never heard of them being illegal anywhere. It's the same bullet as a 308 just in a smaller case...

If he wants to use it that bad he could just take the suppressor off. Or still use it to shoot hogs and coyotes.

Man i want a .300blk so bad. I have a stripped lower just waiting to find a good deal on an upper. I want it for a deer rifle for my 6yr old. I figure next year he should be big enough to shoulder an AR with the stock collapsed. Seems like a great entry deer round with next to zero recoil when fire from an AR platform. I just got my reloading equipment for christmas Can't wait to get an upper and dial in some rounds.

Where are your videos posted? I am not sure if i have watched them yet. I got a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme master kit. I just need to get a case tumbler, case trimmer and a set of calipers oh and some powder and i should be ready to go. I ordered some .270 brass and some bullets from Grafs yesterday. Only set of dies i have at the moment are for .270 so that is where i will start.

Many overlook an AR as a youth deer rifle, but the adjustable stock and light recoil make it perfect. At short ranges, even a .223 with the right bullets will kill a deer. You don't have to fill the mag with bullets.

I wouldn't suggest shooting deer with a 223 AR. I did it, I shot one with a 55gr barnes tsx. It was recommended to be the best bullet for the job since I insisted on doing it. Perfect shot, deer died within 30 yards but left no blood trail at all. The bullet went in and exploded. His insides were jelly but still there was no blood trail or exit so I sold the gun and got a Dpms 308.

A 300blk out isn't just a necked up 223. You can use a 223 case but it has to be cut shorter. It's a necked up 221 I believe.
