A man can dream
Just won the world cup on FIFA 14. It was interesting how player ratings changed in a years time. My lineup was:
Howard
Yedlin JAB Ream Johnson
Gatt Bradley(C) Stu Shea
Donovan/Dempsey
Altidore
Regularly used subs
Zardes and Johansson
Zardes won two games for me. Oh and I left Chandler on the reserves even though he was rated higher than Yedlin.

This was actually the Semifinal. Beat France 2-0 in the final. The Stu hat trick was the highlight of the tournament for me.
What's even harder to figure out is how Mexico beat Spain to make the other semifinal.

Even a video game simulation of Mexico beating spain should be enough for a trip to the ER for you.

I got the job to be the USMNT coach in career mode. For this years version I think it is impossible to play any qualifying WC games. All I had with the USMNT was four friendlies and then the WC.
I chose to be an American manager and was doing very well with Everton. I was about to give in and be some other nations coach when I got the USA offer.
You get to play the WC but all the players stats have changed as time progresses in the game. Dempsey dropped down to a 76, Shea up to 76, JAB and Zardes up to 74 etc. Basically some younger players get better and some of the 30+ dropped down a little.

in career mode yes. My guy didn't get his first call up until the next year. Im on load from Millwall to Oxoford United and im leading league 2 in scoring and we are top of the table with a little over a month left.

FYI in my first friendly with the national team Julian Green was playing RM. Funny thing is i cant even find him in the game at all unless its in my career mode.

Did you download updated rosters for your career mode but not have them loaded otherwise? Only explanation I can think of for that.

I just won the WC with the USA in my manager mode as well. Beat England in the very first group stage game and then they made it to the Final and took me to penalties.

Turns out it was Italy not Mexico that beat Spain. My bad
