Just had a 6 point come within 10 yds of me down wind. Needless to say, I got blown at. Anyone ever have much luck hunting after being blown at?

If he is the only deer in your area, he ain't coming back, but if there are other deer, I doubt it really affects them that much

All the time. I like to blow back at them, seems to freak them out less than if you just sit there trying to be quiet. Being blown at if they don't tear off thru the woods after isn't a big deal

I had two kids with me over the weekend and we walked up a doe on the way to the box stand. She blew all the way through the woods and we still saw several more when we got in the stand. Give it a bit and the woods will calm back down if you are where they deer want to be.

He turned and walked briskly away. Then stopped turned and looked at me some more before blowing and jogging out. Sucks because I was quite content to watch him for a bit. Pretty, young deer

Good question. We got blown at yesterday afternoon and just got blown at again this morning. No idea why this morning. Way off in the woods and I don't think it was downwind.

There's a chance they were blowing at something else. Being blown at isn't the end of your hunt in any situation. It sucks but like Salmon said, it will only freak out deer in the immediate area

In response to where the deer want to be, this is my third hunt at a new stand and have seen horns each hunt. Makes it a much more pleasant experience.

I have been blown at on my way to the stand plenty of times. When everything calms down the deer will move back in.

Damn son, you were thinking about getting out that early? Never do that unless you've downed a big one. I always sit until 10 at the earliest

Walked out of the house this morning and there were 3 or 4 does hanging out in our barn. They all blew at me and ran off. Came back in from hunting and they all ran out of the barn again. If deer want to be in a place they will come back. I will also be hanging a stand in the barn this afternoon.

There's a 130" 12-pt above my fireplace that says not only will deer still come around, but they will also come in to investigate

All I need to do to see every critter in our woods is go to a ridge and fire up the chainsaw. They pile in. I swear I may start taking one to the stand with me.

An old guy who's property I used to hunt said he saw more deer while he was on the tractor than he ever did in the stand.

Makes sense. They smell of earth being turned up prolly helped.
