Any word on how well Iowa is selling their tickets?

Considering its -5 in Iowa city right now...I'd say pretty well.

Wow. Very surprised. I wish I had the money to go because I would definitely buy 4 tickets to the Outback bowl
I bought 2.
Of course, that was before I found out that you can't fly from Houston roundtrip, stay a couple of days in a decent hotel, and rent a car, for under a grand.

Tickets are sold.

People buy cheaper tickets on the secondary market nowadays.

IDK why you would be. People don't want to be in Tampa on New Years Day.

I didn't know you could only stay in Tampa. Orlando is very close by with more than enough to do.

I was told there could be free tickets outside of RJ stadium the day of the game.

Meh...I was unimpressed with Orlando during the last Cap One bowl.

I think its a combination of economics and overall malaise with the fanbase. There's just a lack of excitement around the program since 1/9/12.

I'll get crucified again by some in here but I told people many Tiger fans would refuse to go to the Outback Bowl. LSU knew this and had the advance ticket numbers to prove it. I guess they thought people would change their mind. It's not happening.

You reap what you sew. They should've taken LSU when they had the chance in the past.

Really difficult to understand LSU's stance on the neutral site games...tickets are sky high and the best seats are apparently "reserved" for the home team fans. Tv supposedly pays big bucks AND the SEC network $ kicks in next year...so, WHY the need to raise prices now ???? shite home schedule next year as well ! The whole story/truth is simply not being divulged and the B.R. press simply won't ask the hard questions or demand an accounting !
Now, we hear the bowl tickets are being somehow "released" in a non straight forward manner, i.e. good seats being held back ! All pretty shady stuff !

We need to stop being shitty because its going to steam roll us. Our fans whine and cry when the team gets fricked in bowl selection but then when we go where we should they dont back it up. It will just lead to us getting more chicken shite bowls instead of picked when we should be. However, our fans dont think that far ahead on things.

This is the correct "type" of bowl for us this season but many Tiger fans (SEC West fans in general) aren't going to support the Outback for their lack of respect for the division. Yes they have the first choice from the East but have often bypassed better teams from the West. It caught up to them. You'll get no tears in LA, MS, AL, and AR.

that is terrible reasoning on their part. The same ones that will refuse to go to the outback will be the first ones crying when the team slides in selection and the reason will be our shitty arse fan support.

outside of baseball we are pretty down right now fanbase wise. I believe one day we will return to status of great fans but overall the fanbase is pretty bad for now.

I think the neutral site games to Dallas are wearing thin on folks. It was cool the first time. But now it's run dry and it doesn't help when your opponent has a terrible season [TCU].

I don't see how fan support plays a key role in selecting teams for the CFB playoff matchups.

You really think that many LSU fans have a deep seated vendetta against the Outback? I really don't think that many LSU fans have even thought about the Outback so seriously one way or another. It's just another non-BCS bowl against an unranked and uninteresting opponent to cap another year of losing to Bama.
