I've got a feeling that we dominate this week which will give them confidence that they can actually win against a more physical team. Once we get in the playoffs I think we can beat CHI, PHI, DAL in the first round. In the second round I feel like they will be full of confidence and win again. Then they go to Seattle for the NFC championship and lose a close one. As bad as the saints have played the last few weeks I still have faith in them because whenever brees is at the realm we still have a chance

I felt the same way up until yesterday. We can't expect to visit any of those teams you listed and get a win. No matter where the game is it will be a repeat performance of the game in Carolina.

Dallas I agree with...controlled environment really bad defense I think the Saints can win in Dallas.

Chicago....we know they can win. However, that may have been a different Saints team. With the weather and everything. The Bears can score...their defense is also suspect. Would be a toss up IMO.

Philly....based on what I've seen lately no way the Saints win that game. It will probably be colder than a witch's titty (possibly worse with any kind of precipitation) and that offense would eat us up. No way the Saints win in Philly.

Say what you will about the defenses we've played, the offense has looked abysmal for some time and that's what kills us in these road games. Minus Seattle, the defense has played pretty well on the road but Drew and CSP derp their way through the game and things eventually get away from them.

Who would have thought that it would be our offense that we had to worry about this year?

Yall are talking about the weather... I saw a team yesterday that held strong during that rain storm and came out of it with the momentum. I'm not saying we play great in the elements but, yesterday could have went much differently.

There was a major lack of running the ball, which killed us.

It's really amazing ... for every game late in this season that the Saints have lost ... the predictions are that they will go deeper into the playoffs.

If everyone is going to buy into the CSP/Brees hype ... then there is no way the Saints should ever lose if the other team only scores 17 points.

I do NOT want to play the eagles, the weather and their running attack will eat us alive

Only team we "might" beat on the road is Dallas. We will not win outdoors at Philly or Chicago/GB in good weather much less if its freezing.

I saw a team that was inconsistent. Two trips deep in their territory and came away with field goals. Brees got sacked 6 times! Threw 2 picks! The defense did pretty good up until that last drive. I really harp on the Saints about being pass happy. They ran the ball pretty good yesterday, but I still don't think the believe that they can win a game with a running game. They don't trust it. Now, the ironic thing is, on 3rd and 8, when they should have passed and tried to get the first down, they tried to run the ball. On 3rd and 8? Who does that? The offense have difficulties converting 3rd downs at critical moments in critical games. The way the defense was playing they had some confidence in them. It one thing to have confidence, but at least try to get the first down. The offense gave up and settled for a punt. NFC championship? I would say we have a chance, but for the fact that the games are away and possibly outside. Philly would give us problems. McCoy has been running like a made man. Foles is doing good also. In philly, it might get ugly, because Philly will beat Dallas in Dallas. Big plays kill us. In the playoffs one big play keeps you in the game, 2 big plays can win it. Yesterday was like playoff football and we lost.

At this point, if we win in the WC round we will be in Seattle in the divisional round, not the NFC championship. Only way this changes is if SF loses out, we beat Tampa and become the 5th seed, and Arizona wins their WC game. Then they would go to Seattle and we would go to Carolina.

The most likely scenario at this point is:

SF wins out, NO beats Tampa, Carolina beats ATL and Seattle beats STL. All of these seem the "natural" course of things.

1st - Seattle, bye
2nd - Carolina, bye
3rd - Philly (vs NO)
4th - Chi (vs SF)
5th - SF (@ Chi)
6th - NO (@ Phi)

(IMO)
SF wins in Chi. I think we would not win in Philly, but for shits n giggles lets say we do.

1st - Sea (vs NO)
2nd -Car (vs SF)
5th - SF (@Car)
6th - NO (@ Sea)

Our chances are very slim at this point. I don't see us beating any of these teams on the road.

The only NFC playoff teams (or potential teams) I see a chance of us beating on the road are Philly, Chicago, Arizona, and Dallas.

We wouldn't need San Fran to lose out, just lose once. We own the head to head tiebreaker. That would put us at 5th them at 6th.

The Saints would then play in Chicago and San Fran/Arizona would play in Philly.

Might be an San Fran/Seattle and NO/Carolina slate for the divisional round.

I hope to God this happens.

Call me a homer, but I think the Saints would have a great chance to win in Carolina. They showed that yesterday, with some shitty weather.

The defense and a great QB make anything possible, but yeah they both have to show up at the same time.

Not only would that work out well, because we should have as good a chance as any to beat Chicago and Carolina at their places, rather than Seattle or Philly on the road, but then the 49ers might even throw us a bone and defeat Seattle. We would then host the 49ers in the Dome for the NFCCG.

About as good of a scenario as you can get for having the 5th seed

The Saints are going to need Arizona to beat SF next week for that to happen - not giving Atlanta any shot of it tonight. It's a good thing the Saints game got moved to 3:25 pm because had the Saints played at noon and won, then Arizona would be out and would have lost incentive to beat SF. Arizona only gets in if they beat SF and the Saints lose to TB.

It's odd because I feel the 49ers would have more of a chance to win in Seattle in the Playoffs than the Cardinals despite the Cardinals just beating Seattle in Seattle and the 49ers having a poor track record in Seattle
