Yes they are. Luckily, I picked ULL with my #25 confidence spot.

Well, no return on 20 yrd kicks out of bounds.

FWIW, LSU is 43rd nationally in Net Punting, averaging 37.76 yds/return.
Sounds pretty solid, but consider how few yards we are allowing per return (10 total PR yards all season).

If LSU show up with a little emotion this game will be over by halftime.

LSU is in the SEC and Iowa is in Pop Warner!!!

Sounds like our weakness on offense is in pass protection. A good offensive line protects their quarterback. Ours didn't help him up off the ground. We also had a weak link in our recruiting, same song different verse.

A Truly worthy thread. UPVOTED
IMO...
Iowa's body of work is more impressive than I first thought since the teams that they've lost to were pretty darned good except their first loss and they've beaten some good teams as well.
Iowa's defensive stats are consistently better than LSU's BUT the SEC is much tougher on offense this year. It is true that the Tiger defense is in a rebuilding mode but the defense that the Hawkeyes will face will be much better than those stats show us. Thus, I don't see Iowa fielding a better all around defense than LSU will.
I was a little surprised to see LSU leading the nation at punt coverage. Since I have more respect for the kick returners that the Tigers have faced this year, I must view LSU's special teams as superior to Iowa's.
I can only hope that LSU's clutch performances on third down will continue with AJ but that stat might not be one to put much faith into depending on how AJ performs.
After taking a look at the turnover differential, I couldn't help but notice that Iowa has given more than one int per game. Seeing as our two CBs are so young and unheralded, I expect their QB to throw our TF CBs a couple of Christmas presents. Also, I have the greatest of respect for their athleticism and one of those interceptions could definitely get run back for 6 pts. In other words, they had best respect our TF CBs.
I guess that the most important thing that I took away from this was that their 8-4 record was achieved against some quality opponents with only one glaring exception.

Luckily, Iowa hasn't shown much of a pass rush this season. This is the best thing that a young QB can ask for when thrown into the thicket of things.

A strong running game won't hurt either.

Agreed, but Northern Illinois is a Top 25 team as well. Overrated? Maybe, but still Top 25. Keeping Jordan Lynch at bay is very difficult.

I wouldn't be overly optimistic, as much of the reason for our prolific third down offense was Mett. Although, Jennings certainly presents a different type of threat at QB. While Mett was exceptional at making precise throws on 3rd down, he was a statue in the pocket, and if rushed, could not move around to extend the play as well as someone like Jennings can. We shall see how this changes in the game for sure.

I honestly believe we are overdue for a pick 6.. or a defensive TD in general. The only non-offensive TD we've scored this season was Beckham's missed FG return.

This has to be the worst total in the BCS era.
