Bellegarde Bakery is the truth.

The desserts, pastries, baked goods, and breads in town have tremendously improved from just a few ywars ago.

My vouch is the whole fish at Peche. It's sublime.

Love me some R&O's however the only time I had their roast beef I didn't like. I will probably end up trying it again.

Peche is easily my favorite new restaurant. Great for lunch or dinner, awesome specials, top notch service every time I've been.

A new joint with the new trendy cuisine is nothing like and old school classic New Orleans poboy.

So what's your point ?

That his list is not really consistent with the notion that he's picking certain dishes simply because they're new or come from new places.

i will respectfully disagree with the Pho Ga at Ba Chi Canteen. I had it and it was pretty bad. It was just chicken broth, noodles, and onions. There was absolutely no seasoning in it at all. Tasted like campbells chicken noodle.

Kim Ahn, Pho Orchid, and Tan Dinh are all WAY ahead of them.

His list is made up of places he ate based off of limited opportunities since he was out if town most of the year. As a New Orleanian who has lived else where I know what it's like to come back in town to eat. Got to have a good balance of old favorites mixed in with some of the new places. If I'm coming in to eat I'm without a doubt getting a RB poboy and will choose a classic option that I know is solid. Pho is a little different since it not something you can only get in NOLA. I would be more inclined to stray from my old faithful spots to try the new hot spot that is all the buzz.

Add Lilly's to the list which IMO is the best in town.
