Mickey Brown's are good...I find them next to the fresh meat (refrigerated section) at Matherne's.

I also really like Zwolle Tamales, which I find sometimes in the freezer section at Albertson's (next to the frozen chicken nuggets at the one on Essen/Perkins).

Not sure if the OP is looking for fresh homemade tamales...I see tamale trucks parked on the side of the road sometimes when I'm driving around town but I've never stopped at one.

La Tiendita is good as someone already said. Also from what I hear, Pimanyolis. Zwolle Tamales are good. Mickey Browns are ok
