in bow season I never turn my flashlight on

I know our lease well enough to walk without one on the roads.

gun season comes and I always use it when I am walking past stands that I know a hunter is in to flash it a couple times buts that's all.

do you use one into and out of the stand?

does it affect the deer seeing you?

I've always used one. As long as you point it down at the ground, and not off into the woods, you'd be surprised how short a distance it is visible.

I picked up what you were putting down, Tyrone.

I typically use a light strapped to my head so my arms and hands are free to transport other items with me.

I laughed when my brother used his the entire way to stand when we were bow hunting and he he got into his stand it looked like a lighthouse up there when he was getting his stuff settled

This. And i use a bright light on the ground getting to my stand. I used 120 lumens yesterday am. Walked around finding the right tree, climbed said tree and had an 8pt come in 15 mins after getting settled.

I worry more about noise and scent.

There is no way I would not use a flash light during bow season. Way too many snakes. The only reason I use one in winter is because twice I have walked up on skunks and both time were close calls.

I now use the green led head light.

Not using a flashlight to walk in the dark is pretty asinine.
