So your internet sucks arse? What does that have to do with the PS4? The system update for everyone else on this board including myself took about 7 minutes to download and install. OR you could have downloaded it online weeks ago to a flash drive and installed it in 2 seconds. Your fault.

Support would have given you another one easily and quickly, probably a few extra months too. A year of PS+ was on sale for 29.99 everywhere on black friday and on Amazon with an extra $5 video credit, sucks for you. Was posted on here more than once.

Mine and everyone elses is fast as frick with virtually zero lag or hang time, even in a game my trophies, profile, friends list, etc load in under 2 seconds. Out of a game it is instant.

Mine has locked up zero times (got it launch day). Don't see many having lock up issues that require a reset. Game crashing? Sure. Resets? No.

I don't have either system.

But I wouldn't let the first time updates bother you. You have to remember the console was actually probably manufacture months ago, so it's not odd at all to have a huge update

Is COD the only game you've played? Because any and all trailers of that game I've seen left me extremely unimpressed. I hear if you're really wanting to show the graphics off, Killzone is the way to start off.

As far as the home screen and whatnot being laggy, can't say much about that.

I've had some issues. Just don't enjoy it as much as I do my Xbox one. The graphics are the same except the Xbox can do much more. Don't get the har har har ima hardcore gamer so I buy ps4 lol games look the same.

Again, sounds like bad internet, the two system update files that have been out thus far are a combined 700MB total. A 2Mbps internet connection is going to download that in roughly 45 minutes. I highly doubt you have 2Mbps internet, I have 20 myself and with my PS4 in a DMZ on my router and using Google DNS, I pull about 13Mbps when I run the PS4's internet connection test.

The PS4 did launch in South Africa yesterday and sold out within hours, so maybe they were all DLing at the same time and slowed it down, and even then idk if that would cause it to take an hour. On launch night with millions DLing it took those on here 10-20 minutes to DL.

Maybe you got a bad download or corrupt download, and thus, you are getting a buggy bogged down system.

Didn't plan to buy what? A PS4? Changed your mind quick on that one eh? Like I said, the code issue was common, some with the 30 day trial code and many had issues with the music unlimited trial code. Sony would have easily and quickly gave you a new code and a few extra months free for the trouble via a quick 2 minute chat support.

Correct, my console runs very fast. The latest system update from 2 days ago, 1.52, only had one thing in the notes, and that was "Improve system performance stability". Mine was already quick before, but is a little quicker since that download, mainly in a game and going back to the home screen. That would bog down some for me before the new update, now it's very quick and takes about 2-3 seconds to load a trophies, or my profile.



As I mentioned, you're best bet is to completely wipe your PS4, download the system firmware off the Sony website and put it on a USB drive, and reinstall it. Or just wait and see if it improves. Or give more detail as to exactly what is slowing it down, when and where, and how long you'd estimate it takes to load certain things in and out of a game.

Sorry you have been disappointed. I haven't played ps4 yet but I would try another game. Cod has a reputation of being the worst looking next gen game. Initial system updates can be annoying these days but it comes with the territory, especially with new consoles. I would try ac4 or killzone because everyone says they look great on ps4.

I have both the ps4 and Xbox one. Ps4 is where it's at right now. Sorry you chose to get cod, a game that was just a port and not built from the ground up as next gen. The Xbox ones menu is an absolute cluster, it take much longer to get around to things like settings, or friends lists, and is missing voice messages.

Get rezogun free and play that. I fell in love with it. As for another game, my opinion is BF4 is broken, shadow fall def LOOKS next gen but you won't be wowed by the story, and assassins creed is just another port. Get nba 2k14 for next gen capabilities graphic wise.

Also... Why did you get cod ghosts again? Lol. The Xbone is massive. The controller is massive. The powerbrick is massive. And it too has long updates (battlefield 4's update took about 8 min last night) so it too takes awhile. Look I have 112,000 Gs so I'm not a ps4 fan boy, but neither one of these machines can shine right now given their launch lineup. Relax, you only spent $400 compared to the xbone's $500, and your behind the machine that is SUPPOSED to outshine the xbone due to its better internals.
