I think it's a 5-10 pt game at half but Tigers roll in second half.

UL-Monroe does play some tall guards

This worries me, Butler gave us fits largely because of this (and we didn't block out). I'm hoping Hickey and Stringer don't disappear like that one. Either way, I'm assuming we pull away in the 2nd like you said, South.

I am confident Jones corrected this in the last two weeks.

I'm confident he's corrected the blocking out. The having undersized guards thing is something we'll have to overcome throughout the year against teams with bigger guards. I'm confident we will, though.

I hope we blow them out early so that some of the other guys can get in the game. It was surprising to me that Coach Jones only gave 2 players off the bench any real playing time in the tournament. Coleman and Morgan came in and gave them a spark but no one else really got a shot.

I thought our depth was going to be a real plus for us this year. It seemed to me that our starting five were showing some fatigue in the Memphis game and definitely in the Butler game. Quarterman and Odo got a little bit of time in that one but not very much.

Hammink didn't make an appearance in any of the three games which was sort of telling. Johnny either thought he wasn't up to a big time game or just thought the matchup wasn't there although I would have liked to have seen if he could stop some of those Butler shooters and get some rebounds.

not very good, but it's an unusual road trip against a big 12 team so we will need to be sharp to say the least

It is an ongoing concern as to when and how much playing Stringer and Hickey so much together will come back to bite us.

I think the staff expected Quarterman to be a bit further along at this point. You can't just put him out there just for size if his production is not reiliable, and to this point it has not been.

Morgan has proven to be a better option in that regard to this juncture, but he can't play point so that limits the options.

Hopefully, Quarterman can continue to develop and improve so that he can become a more reliable option in games where the Stringer/Hickey combo compromises us.

I think if we hold serve, i.e. beat the teams we are supposed to beat, which should get us to about 22-23 wins overall, including the SEC tourney, we have a better than average shot of making the dance.

That's the goal, and I think it's realistic.

They haven't even been competitive with the good/decent teams they've played. Blown out by Arizona, Pitt and Bama even handled them easily.

Strange to say but if Josh Gray was still there they'd be pretty decent probably with the way he's playing this year.

UAB is the toughest team left easily IMO on our OOC slate.
