Love the steaks, sides, apps, wine. Cocktail bar leaves a lot to be desired. Good deserts. Great waitstaff. The live music is a nice touch. My favorite steaks in the city.

nailed it.

I'm not a big fan of steakhouses, but when my uncle wants to go here and invites me along I never say no. It's a quality restaurant.

How do you screw up cocktails?

Not so much screwed up, but the bar is not even close to other NOLA mainstays with craft cocktails. When you serve a negroni up, you don't know what you are doing. If you are just doing martini's it's passable.

I've never been but if i'm in that area and want a steak i'm going to Laboca.

I would like to hear what you think about the steak after attending. I've heard mixed reviews.

Service is great in a very nice building. Steaks are pretty good but not the best in the city.

Have been to both La Boca and Chophouse. Once to each. My steak at La Boca was a little undercooked for my liking so I have to give Chophouse the nod. But that's a story for another time so I digress.

Had the beef carpaccio for an app, wonderful. Waiter was nice dude who was knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Had a porterhouse with the red pepper butter. I really liked it. My dad got a ribeye cooked the same way but there was so much red pepper it was almost inedible. He let the waiter know and they fixed it plus tried to comp that entree. The wait staff and management really go above and beyond.

As far as cocktails.... They had Johnny Walker Blue, so I was happy.
One person at the table had a couple Bloody Mary's and seemed to like them.

I went once and didn't really enjoy the Pittsburgh style steaks. Just not my preference. I assume you could get it cooked another way but it wasn't offered to us.
