Went to a buddy's property this weekend. We went up Thursday night and hunted Friday and Saturday. They have land on both Louisiana and Mississippi. So yes, the rice brand was legal

Ended up missing a doe at 90yds with a borrowed 45-70 that I had never shot before. Shot felt great; I'd take that shot 1000 times over, just didn't workout

Pics:

Friday morning, got my first coyote. 30-06 at 50yds

A yearling that was eating in the foodplot early. Came close to pulling the trigger on her but something didn't look right. Then she went into the tall grass and came out right by the stand. That's when I realized she was 40lbs. Glad I held off on the shot

Wait, you're not what I'm hunting

Beautiful Area. Missed the doe at the corner of the young pines
Frick a 45-70

Nice Prime rib on the rotisserie

230lb 11pt killed by a member on our lease this weekend. Jealous

Did you take a shot at that sweet looking cow? Cows are made of meat.

The prime rib is from that cow, isn't it? You should be ashamed.

Young Balls bricked on an 8pt Froday evening.

Me and a buddy hunted one of our wade in holes Sat am and popped a limit with the quickness.

Saw a few deer Sat evening but nothing to shoot. Saw zero deer yesterday morning. Came home. Ready to go back.

Hunted Tensas NWR all weekend. I saw a few does but was hunting a nice buck. Two buddies each bricked on a doe and a buck. We looked for the buck for two hours until I found this twig that he hit with a .50 cal muzzleloader:

Nice kill on the coyote. Blew that bastard's shoulder right off.

I spent the weekend in Idaho where the temp never climbed out of the single digits. But we slayed the pheasants and chukkar.

Loved the dogs we worked with. Really solid pointers.
...and this little Brittany was the best of all of them.

Now that's how you spend a weekend! I hear those chukkars will wear you out. If we had birds around here, the ducks would be getting a free pass from me.

I spent too much time deboning those hams and cleaning them up for her to walk off with half of it

and for fricks sake, she took the 15 dove from the freezer as well.

GF divorce coming soon.

It's expensive. Lucky for me I've got a great casing vendor that likes to do things like this for his clients. 5 star hunting, meals and post-hunt cocktails. Flying B Ranch...check it out.
