Iowa. It may not be the match up everyone wanted (Texas) but It has a potential to be exciting. They run the ball extremely well, and Iowa or no Iowa we get to see the start of the Jennings era. Iowa has had a respectable season and those of you saying they aren't good enough to play with us must not have seen how well we defend the run. That being said, Jennings is going to lead the team to a convincing victory, and hopefully shine some light on next season. Support our Tigers and respect the hell out of the other team. ( until we crush them).

The Outback Bowl is a good bowl to go to. It gets 3rd pick of all the SEC bowls behind Sugar and Cap One. Iowa is a good team that is beatable. Hopefully our guys will get the win and start the momentum for 2014 because Jan and Feb will be exciting months for LSU football and it would be good to get it started on the right foot on New Year's Day.

Can you imagine this place if we would have drawn Texas, then they fire Mack, hire Nick, then underperform and lose the bowl?

Trying to shorten it. Is that acceptable for you? Thanks for your input though.

Hopefully, by the time the game rolls around in 3+ weeks we will come to realize that in a very short period, around the end of the year, we could see LSU get commitments from numerous high quality players, have our QB for next year get practice time and game time, a 10-win season, and a possible final top 10 finish.

I know, I'm spoiled too, but this is the kind of momentum we need to go into the Spring and Summer with big expectations.

sure, would have rathered Texas or Michigan just for historical style points, but Iowa is a good program and will make a good game.

It doesn't look like a sexy matchup but it is a New Years Day bowl game and we have our QB of the future starting his first game. We have a chance to go 10-3 and also have a chance to finish with a top 3 recruiting class. Could be a fantastic start to 2014!

As an LSU graduate living in Iowa, I'm probably more excited than most about the next three weeks. Ames is like the Lafayette of Iowa, one pocket of the state that hates the Hawkeyes. I'm looking forward to all of the mutual Hawkeye hate.

Not too excited for Iowa, but Mark Weisman is a beast.

New Year's Day Bowl ! An opportunity to win 10 games this year. It's better than the Peach Bowl . It's different. Game in Florida.

Sounds like a good deal to me .
