Brian Shaw. Kevin Sumlin. Those two will be interviewed. Maybe not Sumlin because he hasn't had the interest they thought. If they whif Whisenhunt will be named head coach by Friday. That is all. Seattles assistant head coach Cable will not be interviewed.

Cowher, Gruden, Dungy have all said no to coaching in 2014, so they can be taken out of the guessing game.

Looks like Wisenhunt, Shaw, and Lovie are on the interview list.

McNair already said they were hiring a "proven NFL coach."

It'll be an assistant or retread. They'll probably hire Shanahan, which would drive Houstonians crazy considering they've already been playing Shanahan ball for a decade.

how many Texans fans are also aggies?... would it be worth hiring an unknown like Sumlin if it meant pissing off a large portion of your fanbase?

or maybe there's already some animosity between texans fans and aggies... i don't know the houston sports scene.

a friend of mine's brother in law is a sportwriter in Houston. Covered Sumlin at Houston. Became good friend with Sumlin. has said Sumlin has stated on many occassions he would love the NFL and the Texans job if offered. But thats the big question. Do they offer him. They may someone with NFL experience.

No. Houston is a majority A&M city. This wouldn't be a good business move to steal Sumlin from us.

Good to see owner Steve McNair thinking out side the box on this hire.
