Interesting points taken away from this...

Nobody is watching the Pac 12.

More people watched mediocre LSU SEC games over mediocre Bama games, if given a choice.

As a point of reference, last MNF was the most watched MNF of the season at 12 million.

I was somewhat surprised to see aTm to draw bigger ratings than LSU. The aTm/Bama ratings were much higher that LSU/Bama, even though the latter was on at prime-time.

A&M is about an hour from one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. Houston is also full of Aggies. Plus Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.

The Aggie-Bama game was massively overhyped (based on last year and JFF). Advertising does have an effect.

We have one of the largest alumni bases in the country in 3 of the largest TV markets in the country, and also we have the entire longhorn nation watching (Austin is consistently a highly rated city for Aggie games, tv-wise).

100% accurate. Especially after the first couple games. People will tune in early just to see what the new aTm looks like.

Nobody is watching Pac 12 because they can't get their damn network to be picked up by providers.

This is why the whole obsession with TV market size (Cowherd) is sheer silliness when it comes to most sports these days -- football especially.

There are a lot of pac 12 games on the ESPN's and the rest to get a good sample.

As much as I think the PAC-12 is extremely overhyped and enjoy laughing at their misfortunes as often as possible, do you think the late starts skew this ratings data a bit?

I think it's the main contributing factor, actually. People watch the blockbuster games and then go out or go to bed. No one wants to watch another game that goes until 2am. Later if you're on the East coast.

So Bama has lower ratings than LSU?
