that the Lombardi is not won in December. Seattle has a nice squad, as do the Saints, and I'd imagine many lessons will come to surface and better now than later

No, but may very well be indicative of one if we go there again and play the way we did last night. Still,

I guess that was the only good feeling from last night

I felt like I was watching a playoff game and unlike those other painful losses, we get a mulligan.

Remember when the 13-0 Saints lost at home to the Cowboys? The Cowboys talked trash. The Cowboys were bad-arse. Then the Cowboys got their asses kicked in Minnesota and the Saints won the Super Bowl.

Remember two years ago when we anal-raped the Giants in the Superdome on a Monday night? Remind me--who won the Super Bowl that year? Hint: it was one of the two teams on the field that night, and it sure as shite wasn't the Saints.

Couldn't agree more. Some people around here need to pick their heads up. We aren't flawless; no team is.

I don't think beating Seattle twice in their place in one season is possible.

So I'm glad we lost, cause now we only need to beat them once.

BTW, we are a damn tough team to beat twice in any one season.

I will say that if the two meet again, there is no way the score is as lopsided as it was last night.

Does anyone see any similarities between the game last night and beat down we gave New England in 2009.

This is a good point Fox Mulder, this loss would have been 100 times worse if it was in the playoffs. Speaking of the playoffs, this loss reminds me of when the Saints went up to Chicago for the 06' NFC Championship game. It was a road game where they got absolutely hammered, and it brought that back to mind as the Saints just completely struggled in Seattle.

Did the Giants have to go through New Orleans to get to the SB?

The Saints will very likely have to go through Seattle to get to the SB this year.

Apples and oranges dude.

My thoughts exactly. They are the better team today.

It's being the better team on 01/18 that's important.

Will they *still* be better come that day? Most likely...but the Saints will close the game AND will need a break or two (i.e., recovering fumbles not recovered and not dropping INTs like last night).

Hell, it might be a silver lining and all, but I doubt this Saints team beats Seattle twice in one year. Learn from it, I say.

Who says it has to to through Seattle?

After the 49ers game, I know a lot of people who said "screw it. We weren't gonna win in Green Bay anyway." They were wrong. Green Bay was 15-1 that year. It's not over yet.
