Yea I'm young (24) but that picture stickied up there says it all about the dude. Went through a lot to get here, made some mistakes, but learned from them. He has turned into a relentless competitor, a true fighter, and a great leader.

He took over a team that was in the midst of an identity crisis after 1/9 and asserted himself as the glue that kept us together. I can't think of another LSU QB in my lifetime that has gone through the adversity on the field in two years that Mett has. He's been the game manager at times, and the guy who had to carry the whole team at other times.

Even when we were down, and it seemed like we were about to roll over, Mett never quit. I hope he goes on to be an all-time great NFLer, what he has done for LSU is truly inspirational. He's a once in a lifetime Tiger.

If I ever see you in a bar Mett your drinks are on me

He was fun to watch, thats for sure. I love that big arm and effortless 40 yard throws.

Best passer we've had since Rohan.

He is without-a-doubt mine.

I am young also, but I've been around for some pretty good ones in the last few decades. None of them match his heart IMO. A lot of guys who go to JUCO head to their 4 yr to use it as a stepping stone to the pros and nothing else (See: Cam Newton), but not Zach. The raw emotion he showed last night showed that. He loves being a tiger, and I love him being a tiger too.

I will root for him in the NFL. I hope he gets a chance to start.

Mett is Bert "The Ruston Rifle" Jones reincarnated.

Thanks for the memories Mett. Hope your knee recovers in time for one last "Curtain Call" at the Bowl game. Then off to a successful NFL career.

Im happy for him that Cam came aboard. Mett got to show what he can do under a competent coach. Mettsiah !!!

What a fun year to watch Tiger football on the offensive side of the ball. If we had Cam Cameron last year, we win the NC imo.

No. I know what i said.

JR had a cannon but not the accuracy needed to go with it.

Mettenberger has joined Rohan Davey as my all time faves at QB.

Travis Daniels and Jarvis Landry are the other 2.

Mett and Hodson for me.

It has been a looooong time since I had any confidence in converting 3rd and 18, and Mett seemed to do it all the time this year.

He played like he felt truly fortunate to get another chance at big time college football.

Even Mark Richt is proud him.

When he crawled/limped off the field against Alabama on his own, I was hooked. Even Verne and Gary said "way to go young man" or something similar.

Will miss Mett for sure. He stepped up and led this team admirably. Probably a top 3 LSU QB in the last 15-20 years.

Mett this year was accurate, but JR had a great career at LSU. It was awesome watching him sling it all over the field.

JR had more accuracy than Mett. Problem was his WRs dropped more, and he was stuck in a Jimbo offense.

Mauck was really the worst out of Flynn, JR, Mett, and Rohan.
