I just got back and shot some things that don't exist naturally on our continent. Yes, it's less sporting, but only in as much as there was a much greater chance of seeing something because there was a fence around 10k acres. Don't care. Took a fallow and an antelope. Why the hate? Most folks would never have the means to go to the animal in it's native habitat. Still had one of the most memorable hunts of my life knowing what it was.

If you don't think you'll ever get to go to Africa, come to my house and you can shoot my guineas.

Yeah, someone paid good money for that hunt. If you enjoyed it awesome.

We once did a "European pheasant hunt" that the company paid for. Basically it was a 30' tower that two guys chunked about 300 pheasants from while we shot them, it was pretty embarrassing and I felt like crap, but those things were fricken tasty!

Everyone knows all you do is go sit on the stand for 5 minutes and pick out the animal you want to shoot. Duh.

The hate is because Louisiana fenced hunt does not equal Texas fenced hunt.

The I hate testosterone crowd. Yuppies who pay 40k to kill tame bottle fed deer have given property owners who want to protect their exotics a bad name.

Yeah most LA hunters have no concept of what 10000 acres looks like. Fence barely comes into it.

I assume you got a Blackbuck and if so, that's one of the prettiest mounts around. We had them running wild on our place in Junction and I'd have chopped off a finger to kill one but never got it.

The "hate" usually come from people shooting them in small pens. 10k acres HF is much different than 600acres HF.

I don't get the hate for large, fenced in pens either. I hate the places that, like you said, is super small and the animals are pretty much on a lease and trained to come out for a specific time. But hey, if you want to pay for that, then knock yourself out. Just not true "hunting" IMO.

So 600 acres would be considered a "small pen"?

Black buck, yes. Little kid exited about the mount for my wall. Would have been just as happy for a fallow buck, but took the first good opportunity. I'll keep going back till I get an axis and a white fallow.

My cousin lives next to a large acreage high fence. He literally pets the animals. Says twice he has seen mounts of the animals he had petted and scratched the necks of. Said it would have been easier to just lead them to a trailor and put a 22 pistol next to their head and kill them that way.
