Anybody have any experience with these? I have held it a few times but never been able to shoot one. I'm deciding between this and the Glock 17. The Sig has very favorable reviews comparing it to the P226. I don't believe anyone around here rents Sigs. This will not be concealed. It will just be for truck, range, home defense (until I get a shorter barrel 12ga). Price has a lot to do with it also. The Sig can be had for 400 in 9mm and 459 in .40 the Glock is around 520.
Side question. What is the ammo abundance of the 9mm and .40? Is it harder to get one or the other?
Found this of all things lol

Great gun for the money. Seriously considered getting one a few months ago. 9mm would be my recommendation.

Both are good firearms. Whatever feels better to you and has better controls (to you) should be what you pick. Both of them will do pretty much the same thing.
But one thing to consider is that the Sig is DA/SA, meaning the first round can be double action with every following shot being single action. So you would need to learn two trigger pulls. The Glock (or any other striker fired pistol) will give you the same pull every time.

Good deal. Then you are not limited on size. I'm glad you didn't say you wanted a subcompact for home defense because I would have advised against it. A full sized pistol is your best candidate and both you list fit this bill.

I have seen a wave of ammo lately. At Cabela's I saw more ammo than they could even fit on the shelves. Thousands of rounds of 9mm and 40...
Then again, it could be a different story at smaller stores.

I looked at this gun and the sr9c - I went with the sr9c - can't go wrong with either its a SIG - 9mm seems to be readily available, the other calibers I am not sure about.

I have two of them. Bought a .40 first and liked it so well went back a few months later and bought the 9mm when they were on sale. Hard to beat in that price range.

i love mine in 9mm, and I know at least 5 other people who have them in 9mm or 40 that love them
i've shot at least 5,000 rounds and not a jam
