Aschoff has to be wrong
From espn sec blogs sec power rankings

5. LSU (8-3, 4-3 SEC; LW: 7): Just when we think LSU might stumble with the nation's best player and the SEC's best offense in town, the Tigers pull what should be considered a shocker in a 34-10 win over A&M. The most impressive part was how the LSU defense contained Johnny Manziel for the second straight year. Manziel totaled just 278 yards of offense, threw two interceptions and completed 16 of 41 pass attempts. A win over Arkansas on Friday could put the Tigers in line for an appearance in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Does LSU have priority to buy tickets because that is the only way they are going to the Sugar Bowl?

Mistake.

No way they get in over 2-loss Mizzou or Auburn.

Just don't see it with Bama, AU, Mizzou, and SC all ahead of LSU.

Ummm no. Unfortunately we have three losses. The Sugar Bowl will be the loser of the Iron Bowl

Mizzou or Auburn would get the 2nd SEC BCS bid over LSU if bama beats auburn

I think so too.

But here is the kicker. If LSU is in the top 16, then they are eligible, right? If the Sugar Bowl isn't forced to take an automatic bid (a la Fresno St.) , then the Sugar Bowl could theoretically pick LSU, no?

Theoretically yes. The one thing that is working in lsus favor is the abysmal sugar bowl attendance the past two yrs when featuring teams that had to travel a decent distance...especially last yr

true, but would it be automatic? Or, would it be the Sugar Bowl simply wanting them?

well stranger things have happened. After last year, The Sugar bowl may look at who would buy more tickets than wins and losses. If Aubunr loses, LSU beat them head to Head. Sugar may take them over Aubbie or whoever the east loser is. I doubt it, but you never know.

for this to happen Carolina has to lose to clemson and in the seccg, auburn get trounced by bama, mizzou lose to a&m, and we beat arky.

I can't see sugar taking us at 3 losses over a 2 loss Auburn team. Had we not lost to ole miss, we'd be a certain lock for the sugar bowl now imo.
