Anyone else tired of hearing about how good the Seahawks are?? Yes they re defense is nasty, but I feel their team as a whole as well as Russel Wilson are overrated.

It's on par with the Saints schedule -- no clue what you're talking about.

These threads are annoying. We play Carolina and Seattle both who cares what the media says' we'll just have to change their opinion

a little bit

They might win 14 games but They have more than one weakness and have played a pathetic schedule.

Pundits make them out to be unbeatable at home...they played one good team at home all year and a slew of shitty teams...I don't think you should have a lineup of 12-4 teams at home, but san fran at 6-4 is the best team they've played at home

Not that we've had some beastly home slate, but then again people aren't making us out to be the 85 bears

We lost to the Jets and they are no where near overrated. Let's just play the game.

Seattle opponents have a .390 winning percentage.

Saints opponents have a .475 winning percentage.

They lost a game to an AFC team on the road.

Saints lost two games to AFC teams on the road.

In looking at common opponents....they blew out San Fran at home 29-3, we beat San Fran at home 23-20.

They beat Arizona on the road 34-22, we beat Arizona at home 31-7.

They barely beat Tampa 27-24 in OT at home. We barely beat Tampa 16-14 on the road.

We won a close one against Atlanta at home 23-17, they blew out Atlanta on the road 33-10.

Seattle is also really close to having 2 more losses on their records, to St. Louis and Houston. But they won the games and a win is a win.

Honestly, I wouldn't say they are overrated. If you take both the Saints and Seahawks body of work thus far, I think the teams are just about even. I'll give us the slight edge because of #9.

They play in a top heavy division

2 cupcakes right there twice a year - 4 wins
AFC South - worst division in football - 3 wins right there and indy has not looked like world beaters lately.

rams x2-4 wins
cards x2 - 6 wins
jags - 1 win
titans - 4 wins
texans - 2 wins
Vikings - 2 wins
bucs - 2 wins
falcons - 2 wins
giants - 4 wins
colts - 7 wins
49ers x2 -6 wins
carolina - 7 wins
saints - 8 wins

67 wins

falcons x2 - 2
bucs x2 - 2
panthers x2 - 7
jets - 5
Pats - 7
Bears - 6
niners - 6
Bills - 4
dolphins - 5
cowboys - 5
cards -6
rams - 4
seahawks - 10

76 wins

which schedule looks tougher? Keep in mind we played a falcons team at the beginning of the season when they had all their players. They played carolina opening day before carolina really started to gel. They also played a lockerless titans who are worse than their record appears now

and this is not to dismiss them as a legit contender, but people act like they are UNBEATABLE

they have been very fortunate with a week schedule and a late bye...great combination there.

They are every bit as good as the other NFC contenders, but again. They are still overrated because they're treated like they are soooooo much better.

Nah Wilson is as good as advertised IMO. I wouldn't say he has as much ability to carry a team as Luck does, but he's probably the second best of this next generation of QBs

Losing Sproles, Jahri, and Jabari ain't gonna help us when we play Carolina or Seattle.

wilson is not as good as advertised. He has really struggled with consistency and has some super dud games

again, they advertise him as being better than he is. He is still good, and IMO, will be great

I would have to agree with that. And we'll have to settle
It on the field. I just hope we handle our business.

Let me give you a perspective from somebody that lives in Seattle. I grew up Louisiana so I love the Saints. I also went to LSU. But I have been living in Seattle for 20 years so I also grew fond of the Seahawks and have watched every game. I suspect few on this board have watched many of the Seahawks' games, but anyone who believes the Seahawks are overrated is delusional. This is one of the best teams I've ever seen. Now that their offensive line is getting healthy, this team has no weakness. And no, Wilson is not as good as advertised, he's better than advertised. And do I really have to remind Saints fans about Marshawn Lynch? He's maybe better than ever. The Hawks don't put up eye-popping stats. They just kick you in the teeth. Are the Hawks beatable?
Absolutely. On any given day in the NFL, if a team doesn't bring their A game they are beatable. The Saints are a very good team and COULD win in Seattle, but they are stepping into a buzzsaw in the loudest place on earth. And these fans don't leave at halftime, even if it's 41-0. Really looking forward to a great game.

At this point people are splitting hairs and the thread is little more than 'rawr teams that are in competition with the Saints for homefield are overrated' -- generic hate for hate sake. The Seahawks are a good team. A very good team. Their performance against common opponents is virtually identical to the Saints. Do they have flaws? Of course... but so do the Saints.

People said the Vikings were overrated in 2009. Well, they weren't. And were it not for a few boneheaded errors on their part they could have easily won that NFC title game.

Saints have to take care of business on Thursday and beat a beatable Falcons team first. The week after that we'll know who the better team is between the Saints and Seahawks. Personally I don't have a good feeling about the game as the Saints haven't really faired well against competitive teams especially on the road.

I'm not afraid of Seattle. These are the kinds of build ups and games that make football enjoyable and exciting.

If the saints win in seattle, can beat any team and win anywhere.

I agreed up until "Saints haven't really faired well against competitive teams especially on the road". Our road record, even outdoors is well above average.
