My daughter was invited to play on a winter U9 league at the indoor facility in St. Gabriel. She's played u5-u8 with BRSC, but never indoors.
Any tips for a first timer that would helpful to pass on to her? We've already talked about the obvious of the speed of play and the ball always being inbounds, but I'm assuming there are some other more subtle differences as well.

Less players, faster play, more of a reliance on technique, quick passing, angles.

Learn to play off the wall and judge the ball off the walls.
Takes some getting used to, esp at that age.

no offsides- cherry pickers dream come true.
subs are made hockey style vs stopping the game.
these are both things that very well could have changed since I played a very long time ago

Learn to give and go off the wall. Also, always expect a rebound on shots, since there's no end line. You can score a lot or goals by getting good at hitting the rebound.
Also, most indoor leagues don't allow sliding, which can be tough to get used to.

I'm gonna disagree with those saying to encourage her to play off the walls. Assuming the main point of this indoor season is development, bashing it off the wall does nothing for that and can even hinder development when it comes to getting out of tight spaces. Too many kids first reaction is to bash it off the wall when they get in trouble.
