What's the best and fastest way to get rid of these things? Trap them? Poison? My back yard is suddenly overrun with mole tunnels and holes!

Getting the typical smart arse comments on the OT. Should have come here first

They make traps and poison. I've never tried either, as I encourage anything that wants to destroy my grass. Nevertheless, Tractor Supply carries the traps and the poison. Also, try Forestry Suppliers online. They'll have some too. Good luck.

No I don't have a dog or a cat. Some people told me to get a cat but we have several "neighborhood" cats that are always in my yard but must not like killing my moles!

I bet snakes would wreak havoc on some moles. You should get a few GDCKs and unleash hell.

The moles are eating grubs and other bugs in the ground, you need to kill the grubs and worms and they will move on. Treat with a granulated truf pest killer from home depot or lowes by following the directions on the bag and you'll see a difference in a few weeks.

Dogs are also very effective, but tend to do more damage then the moles themselves!

Pics or it didn't happen.
No seriously, I'd love to see pics of the havoc they wreak. My Jack Russell left a couple big moles on my doorstep, but I never even knew they were there prior. But it did explain why my Jack Russell made my yard look like Swiss cheese.

The family beagle has always been pretty effective, and she does a fine job of destroying the old man's back yard in the process.

It slopes down to the lake and is rife with the ugly bastards. Damned if she doesn't get one now and again, but the pure joy that dog exudes while barking and methodically tossing dirt around all frickin day makes me insanely jealous.

There is literally a 1917 German-style WWI trench across the bottom of the yard.

My grandparents had them real bad on our farm and they used these triggered traps that stab them. Pretty effective to my memory.
Also, they were way worse after the farm dog died. Cats never did a very good job.

Nature of the beast. Cats aren't equipped to dig them out like dogs. They will catch them from time to time, though.

A good, hyperactive dachsund solved the problem for my dad. You've never seen so many dead moles, voles, mice, rats, and squirrels.

This FTW. Also, depending on where you live or how close neighboring yards are, you may want to have them treat their yard as well. I just let them know what's was doing and treated both neighbors' yards on each side of me when I did mine. Problem solved. Good luck
