They were on fire for about 15 years up until Toy Story 3. The movies they put out were truly masterpieces.

Disney acquired Pixar in 2006. Is Disney killing Pixar?

Killing in what way? Their movies are still huge hits and are making tons of money. Not sure what you mean by "killing pixar".

No. Just Hollywood in general. Every movie can't be a instant classic.

Originality?

I dunno, I'm just sitting here in my cubicle realizing that I haven't seen a quality Pixar film come out in the past few years like we have in years past.

Up and Toy Story 3 were both nothing if not incredible. I'm not sure which Pixar movies you are criticizing here.

WALL-E, Up, and Toy Story 3 were all released after 2006. Those are all great movies and top 5 of all the Pixar movies IMO.

I've heard really good things from people working on their next movie "Inside Out".

Brave was OK...but meh compared to most other Pixar movies, so I see the OPs point, but Toy Story 3 and Up are only 3 years old and well after 2006 so no...Disney is not killing Pixar.

I rather more original ideas instead of sequels. Monsters U just came out and now Finding Dory, which I think was a bad idea.

I came in with low expectations and was very surprised. It was a solid movie well worth the Redbox rental.

I just don't want them to get too sequel happy. Along with Toy Story, Cars, Monsters Inc., and now Finding Nemo have sequels.

Of their current slate in the works, only Finding Dory is a sequel. And, let's face it, with movies as good and as popular as they put out early on there were BOUND to be multiple sequels.

So happy people are saying Toy Story 3 was incredible. Truly one of the best animated films ever made.

The Pixar purchase by Disney went backwards than most acquisitions. Instead of Disney people infiltrating and taking Pixar jobs. Pixar personnel have taken over Disney animation and entertainment.

Yeah, definitely seems to be their most ambitious effort since Wall-E. I'd say its probably my most anticipated film of 2015... maybe next to Star Wars.
