A success a running the ball last week did not translate to anything. When will that darn team learn that when the run they win. If they loose this game that will be why. I am tired of that reflection later me Sean Peyton. He needs to recognize that in the freaking moment. I swear this makes me sick. Drew Brees cannot win every game for you. They need to commit to a running game.

Payton even came out after the Jets game and said "I realize we've got to run the ball more".

And he's forgotten it already.

When you pass on first and second down, a run on third down is very predictable. On the 3 yard line you have to run it on first down, possibly second down also. When you pass on first and second down it sends a message to your backs that he doesn't believe they can get three yards. Brees is good, but he is not the whole team. Against Seattle, Carolina and the Rams defense they better run or else Brees is going to get killed. He has been hit hard more times this season that most seasons past.

We don't pay the man $100,000,000 to hand the ball off. We have one of the best QB in the league so we use him. The Saints still had almost 100 yards rushing.

We run the ball about as well as you spell and use proper grammar.

We ran it 23 times for 90 yards, averaging 4.0 a carry. Are you really complaining about that? The game was close because of unforced turnovers. It had nothing to do with not running the ball.

Against a defense that has the best inside linebacking duo in the league, and a stout d-line, you take that production every time. The way to neutralize their strength is to spread them out. Of course you don't want to do that too much, because they'll start to tee off on you. We didn't. We had a good balance, and it worked.

Another thing: without those unforced turnover, the running attempts would be a lot higher, because we'd be at 27 or 30, while they'd be lucky to be at 14.

It'd be different if they had AP back there. They have servicable backs, not All Pros. Your All Pro is the QB, so you keep the ball is his hand when it matters most. Theres a fine line though, a complimentary running game takes pressure off him, but the running game has to be working, otherwise you want the pressure on Brees to win the game for you.
