They will have no problems signing him after this rookie contract, it's either an extension before his current contract is up, or he gets a max offer in restricted free agency. The way that the CBA is set up you get players that you want for 7 or 8 years before they can leave.
The only way he could leave would be if he accepts a qualifying offer and then doesn't sign a max contract in restricted free agency, I doubt he'd do that.
